So, I have a lot of opinions about lesson planning. I have written lots of different kinds of lesson plans in the last 3-4 years, all of them following a certain template. I haven't had the chance to create my own plan! I'm excited to have this freedom to be able to create my own format that works, and makes sense, to me.
I have made lesson plans following a long format, already created for me. I've created lesson plans that are fill in the blank. I've created weekly lesson plans that are in a chart format. There were things I liked, and disliked, about these plans. I liked the chart to have a quick glance for the week, but it wasn't detailed enough. I would have to constantly remind myself and think about what I meant when I wrote it. Some lesson plans were too detailed, in my opinion, and had a lot of extra things included and a lot of extra "fluff" that I didn't think was necessary.
I think this is a great day-to-day lesson plan to follow. You can write down your basic ideas, and what worksheets you need. It also includes a schedule, to make sure you stay on task and on time. I like the lesson plans that a quick and "at a glance." I think that as a teacher, that is what I will use the most. I am a very organized person, and can be particular about things. For this class, my plans will be set up in sections, and in order. My plan would be short and to the point, no extra fluff that isn't necessary to my plan.
I like this plan too.

Lesson Planning
I think lesson planning, even in the simplistic manner, is super important in order to have a functioning classroom. Without lesson plans, you have no agenda on the day, week, month, and year ahead of you. It reminds you of things you need to touch on, new things you're leaning, and important quizzes or exams.
I have experience writing lesson plans of all types. I wrote lesson plans in high school in my teaching professions class, in my college classes at MACC, and also for my job as a preschool teacher. I have not written the type that is required for this class, however, it is similar to other lessons I have written in the past. I think all lessons have the same basics, just arranged in a different manner.
I am excited to write this type of lesson plan, and learning how to make my lessons plans go above and beyond. I want to be fully prepared on how to plan lessons for the day, and lessons for the whole unit. Having these skills will ensure that my future classroom runs smoothly, and it with make sure that I am prepared every day for the skills I am teaching.
